Val was raised in Rockwall, TX where she attended 1st through 12th grade. She is currently in her third year at Texas Tech University where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Honors Science and the Humanities with a concentration in Medicine, Global Health, and the Humanities and minoring in Spanish. Over the summer, Val completed both Organic Chemistry 1&2, where she learned her passion for the subject. In the future, Val's goal is to attend medical school and pursue a career in neuroscience as her career goal is to become a neurosurgeon. Val is passionate about serving others and finding ways to better improve the community which is why she is excited to join a lab that focuses on sustainable materials.
Outside of her academic career, Val enjoys a variety of hobbies such as running, reading, crocheting, knitting, and language learning (currently learning Spanish and French).
