Nayara was born in Angola, Benguela, raised in Luanda (capital of Angola) and Houston, Texas. She is a third-year undergraduate student at Texas Tech University, where she majors in Biochemistry with a minor in Biology. Nayara plans to work for an oil company after graduation in a petroleum refinery and hopes to use the techniques and skills acquired from sustainable research in her field and country. Angola is a country that has low habits of sustainability and recycling, and using the skills from the laboratory projects could help her improve her country.
In Naya's free time she enjoys watching old TV shows, reading books, and hanging out with her friends.
