Max grew up amongst chickens and llamas in the countryside near Amarillo, Texas. She was enamored by the natural world from a very young age, and she adopted a personal mission to protect it.
At Texas Tech, she is working towards a simultaneous Bachelor's and Master's degree in environmental engineering, with a focus on environmental toxicology. She works under Dr. Kristufek to explore and develop the functionalization and recyclability of commodity plastics. After receiving her Master's in Environmental Engineering, Max aims to work for the Environmental Protection Agency and significantly progress federal environmental regulations.
When not working, Max can usually be found rock climbing, hiking, playing guitar, singing, drawing, or engaging in activism.
