Year joined: 2025
Lily was born and raised in south Fort Worth, Texas. Although she initially enrolled as an education major with the intent to teach K-12 science, her love of lab work led her to change course and earn her B.S. in biochemistry from Lubbock Christian University in May 2025. Her independent undergraduate research project centered around detection methods for concentration-dependent reaction mechanisms at the micromolar to nanomolar scale; she also worked in Dr. Julie Marshall's analytical biochemistry lab from 2024–2025.
After starting her Ph.D. in chemistry at Texas Tech in August 2025, she joined the organic chemistry division and now works with Dr. Kristufek's group on sustainable and stimulus-responsive polymers. She also works as a graduate teaching assistant and science tutor and hopes one day to teach at a private university.
Outside of the lab, Lily enjoys art, competitive gaming, terrarium husbandry, and caring for her White's tree frog.
