Genasis Garza was born and raised in the small town of Littlefield, Texas right outside of Lubbock. She is senior at Texas Tech majoring in Chemistry and minoring in Spanish. She was initially interested in medicine, but found a passion for chemistry. After graduating, she plans to take a gap year and continue pursuing her PhD. While participating in this research group, her goal is to learn more about chemistry and how it can be applied as well as gain experience in using chemistry to create solutions for issues seen in today’s society.
Outside of academics, she enjoys being engaged in her church, playing pickleball, baking, watching dramas and exploring new places and hobbies.
