Connor Chiu is originally from Dallas, Texas, but moved to Lubbock to attend Texas Tech University for his undergraduate studies. He is currently studying for his Bachelor's of Science in Biology, while also working on achieving a minor in Chemistry. After undergrad, Connor hopes to attend medical school in Texas. He hopes to eventually be able to go into the field of surgery, as he loves tinkering with things and solving problems with his hands.
Connor took Dr. Kristufek’s Organic Chemistry I class and really gained an appreciation for the science behind bio-sustainable chemistry. He really enjoyed thinking about the idea of using laboratory sciences to combat the problem of plastic pollution and is excited to be a part of the team.
In his free time, Connor enjoys doing things in the great outdoors, like hiking, fishing, camping, and exploring. Additionally, he enjoys spending time with his twin brother, Corey Chiu, who is also a member of the Kristufek lab group.
